Hello and welcome to my website. I am a historian of the United States who teaches at Illinois State University. My research and writing focuses on intellectual history, or more specifically, how Americans have variously made sense of their rapidly changing worlds. I am deeply interested in politics broadly understood, that is, how people use various means to gain power or to have more say over their lives, and how they process and articulate their political and philosophical concerns.
